Such a good app for writing the alphabet
Why so few reviews? I think this is a very smart and fun way to learn how to write letters and numbers and do so in the correct direction. The interface visually shows the user how to write the letter. It guides the user throughout with the traditionally correct *order* of the strokes as well as the stroke *direction*. Perhaps its my Japanese side that makes me a stickler when it comes to handwriting. IMHO, I think there IS a proper way to hand write letters! : )
In addition to its inherent charm (the illustrated words are just sublime--I am guessing the app designer found a precociously artistic child to create to drawings), the child narration is very sweet without being cloyingly so and the cheer is a lovely, rather musical touch. The sound effects are lively and fun (I find I do ask my children to turn it down though when the percussion seems too loud) and...and-And-AND: my two children (a boy and a girl) genuinely enjoyed playing it. Now that they are in the elementary grades, it seems to have run its course. It was a delight when they were 3 and 4--and 5 too. I highly recommend it for these ages.
Also, I have to say, in the app world, I dont see a lot if soul out there. This app has some soul to it...in terms of the depth and quality of the artwork and the ingenuity and hard work that went into creating it. A cheer to the people who made this! Hurrah!
